Pavel Suma
PhD student, Visual Recognition Group, Czech Technical University in Prague
Advised by Giorgos Tolias, I work on visual representation learning for instance-level image retrieval. I focus on image-to-image similarity estimation that is computationally efficient, has a low memory footprint, and generalizes across domains. In spring 2026, I was a visiting researcher with the VISTA team at École Polytechnique, hosted by Vicky Kalogeiton.
Before starting my PhD, I completed an MSc in Artificial Intelligence and a BSc in Software Engineering at CTU, including exchange stays at TU Delft and Kansas State University. Alongside my studies, I worked as a machine learning engineer at Blindspot AI and as a freelance software developer for Softec CZ.
I expect to defend my thesis in spring 2027 and am open to new opportunities starting afterward. Get in touch if you would like to talk.
